Okay, I'm always on the lookout for new and interesting recipes. So, what's for dinner, and how old are your kids?

I have a 20 month old, and we're having beef stroganoff. You take about a lb of stew meat(feeds 3 of us) an 8oz container of sour cream and an 8oz can of mushroom soup(we use celery with beef base added as I have a thing against fungus, lol). You brown the meat in your choice of seasonings, add the sour cream and simmer for about 20 minutes, then add the soup and cook for another 10 or so minutes to get all the flavors blended. Serve over buttered egg noodles and yum, dinner's done. So what are you cooking?

Have a good day!

  1. LOL! I am making the same thing tonight for my family. Except we are not using egg noodles because of allergies and I cheat and use a seasoning packet.

Tomorrow, I will be making Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I take about a pound of chicken breast and make sure it is completely defrosted. I marinate the chicken in Italian dressing, a little lemon juice, salt and pepper all day. I grill the chicken in a frying pan on low until browned with olive oil. Meanwhile, I cook the fettuccine noodles. I cheat and use Barilla Alfredo sauce, but I'm sure you can find a great recipe for it. I mix all the chicken, noodles, and sauce together and then steam some broccoli to go with it. Sometimes I just serve as is, or I put in the oven (@around 350) for a few minutes with some Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top and after it is a little browned, I will serve it. My kids love this one. They are 2 and 4.

  2. WE use a recipe I got from Campbells:

    From: Campbell's Kitchen

    Prep/Cook: 20 minutes

    Serves: 4

    Ingredients:

    1 tbsp. butter OR margarine

    4 skinless, boneless chicken b*****s

1 box (6 oz.) Pepperidge Farm® One Step Stuffing Chicken Mix

1 can (10 3/4 oz.) Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup OR Campbell's® Condensed 98% Fat Free Cream of Mushroom Soup

    1/2 cup milk

    1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

    Directions:

HEAT butter in medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook 12 to 15 min. or until no longer pink. Remove chicken.

PREPARE stuffing in skillet according to package directions except let stand 2 min.

RETURN chicken to skillet. Mix soup and milk. Pour over chicken. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and heat through.

My kids love it...My husband doesn't care for mushrooms, so After I cook the stuffing I split it into wo pans and make one with Broccoli and cheese soup and cream of chicken with the millk.

    I use a 3lb bag of Chicken....

WEll because there are 6 of us and if my sister is here then 7 so we need more lol.

    It is SOOOOOOO easy!!!

  3. My husband is taking us out to eat today to celebrate my 4yr old first soccer game...we are going to the restaurant that sponsers the team :)

  4. Homemade pizza for us.  I make the crust and let the kids put on all the toppings.  I will make an extra crust and take 2 cans of cherry pie filling and bake it for dessert.

  5. My parents are cooking dinner for us tonight, our son is only a week old, so they have been helping with meals. I believe they are making spaghetti and meatballs with toasted bread. I think that we are having corn and green beans as a side. My daughters are 6 and 2, so they will be enjoying the same dinner as us. My son is only 8 days old, so I think he will be sticking to formula!

  6. I have 5 kids: 15 y/o, Two eleven y/o's, a 2 year old, and a 4 week old. For the kids, Their having Chicken Parmesaen. For the 2 year old, i cut up the chicken cutlet into small pieces with no sauce or cheese on it. She eats it with plain ketchup. For my 4 week old, it's yummy mushed carrots :)

  7. I made beef stroganoff for dinner the other night!!

I'm making stuffed cabbage rolls & mashed potatoes for dinner tonight. My children are 3 1/2 and 9 months (in 3 days). Tyler won't eat the cabbage rolls but he'll eat the mashed potatoes. I have a VERY picky kid who will NOT eat any type of meat except chicken nuggets. Tonight will be Riley's (my youngest) first real dinner. I plan on giving him a little bit of the meat inside the cabbage & some mashed potatoes. We'll see if he likes it!!

    Stuffed Cabbage rolls:

1 1/2 lbs of ground meat

    Cabbage leaves

    Tomato sauce

    cooked rice

Boil cabbage leaves until flexible & cook rice

Get your meat mixture ready (meat, rice & spices---I use salt, pepper, onions, garlic, oregano, basil & italian bread crumbs--I don't measure anything though)

Roll mixture into balls and place instead a leaf...fold over leaves to encase meat.

Put rolls (seam side down) into an electric skillet & add tomato sauce. Cook until done.

Whip up mashed potatoes & voila!!

  8. I love these type of questions! I'm making chicken quesadillas. I cook 2 chicken b*****s in the oven first then shred them up. I then put them into a skillet with a can of tomatoes and green chiles. I simmer it for about 5 minutes. Then I place 1/4 of the chicken mixture into each tortilla (makes 4) add 1/2 cup of cheese and fold it over. (I like to use the taco cheese)  Then I rinse my pan and add a little butter to it over medium heat. Once the butter melts and the pan is hot I add the quesadillas one at a time. Flip em when they're brown.  YUMMY! My family loves them. My kids are 2 and 8.

  9. The hubby is making meatloaf, mashed potatoes, peas, and rolls.

My kids are 8 and 2, but the older one is at grandma's.
