Parents: What do you look for in a babysitter?

Im 15 years old and I'm wondering what parents want in a babysitter.

1. Knows how to take care of babies and children (example: understands that you have to watch a toddler ALL the time, can prepare meals and feed them, can change diapers, give a bath, etc.).

2. Is responsible, shows up on time, and focuses on the job (doesn't just watch TV or call friends).

3. Loves kids, plays with them, pays attention to them.

4. Follows parents' instructions for how they want things done.

5. Can stay calm and act responsibly in an emergency.

6. Ideally, parents want a sitter just like themselves!

If you're trying to get a babysitting job, good luck!  Asking parents what they look for was a good idea.

Someone that we can trust. Someone that our children feel safe with. Someone that the kids have fun with. Someone responsible and honest and friendly.

someone who is outgoing, friendly, loves kids, is responsible, cleanly (picks up after themselves and children), someone who is mature and soemone my kids like.

someone truth worthy, who has had some sort of experience with children before, weather it be they have kids themselves or have grown up with younger brothers or sisters.

someone who is responsible and patient, and someone fun who will enjoy playing with her and not get angry or frustrated with her!

LOL. When i was 12 my babysitter WAS 15. I don't think your parents are looking for babysitters for you because they are worried about your saftey as much as they are just trying to make sure you don't have people (bouys) over to your house. A little overprotective, Idk what state ur in but at 15 here in NY you can work if you have working papers and your parents don't even need to sign just a school guidance consoler.
