Parents What fun things do you do with your child in the holidays and at the weekends?

over thee 4th of July we had a family picnic/cookout at our sons house. was about 35 pp; there all kinds of food and drink and then there was a 4 generation baseball game in the mud. was a great day and all was exhausted.

we went berry picking on the weekend at a local farm the kids loved it

or visit an animal farm

During the summer  and on weekends we have always found this to be fun. Go to Walmart, K-mart, Target, Shopko etc and find those thongs (sandals) that are rubber and only cost about $1.00 a pair then go to the art store and buy outragious flowers or bows and maybe even some fun different fabrics and either hot glue (parent supervisor) or tie on some different fabrics and make  your own fun and outragious flip flops.. It's really fun and doesnt cost alot..

swimming (pool, beach or waterpark, slip 'n slide in the backyard, wherever),  we have a place near where we live that you go and pick out a statue or bowl, mug or magnet and paint it - (they gloss it, put it in the kiln and you pick it up the next week) and that is fun, we like to go to parks and bbq there with friends or at home after the park/beach, once in awhile we go to the zoo, there are lots of different museums or aquariums and kid friendly places within a couple hours distance, so can make a weekend out of visiting those and shopping, eating..  umm  i dunno we just find things to do and sometimes just hang out or go to a movie!

We are close with our extended family and all of our kids are around the same age, so we spend a lot of time having different kinds of parties (birthday, 4th of July, book) The kids have fun and we have fun too. It seems that we hav picked up other families along the way and now have a great group of frineds as well
