Question:

Parents: Would you correct your child's misconceptions?

If your child made a logical mistake and created a whole different reality in his or her head, would you correct them or let them naturally realize their mistake? For example, if you're child saw you "being the tooth fairy", and then really believed you were the tooth fairy, would you wait for them to grow out of it? Or would you correct them?

  1. If I were in that situation(seeing as I almost blew my cover on my being Santa last year) I would tell my daughters that the tooth fairy had sooooo many houses to go to that night that she asked me to help her out a little bit and take care of their tooth for them. Just like Santa...I told my 3 yr old that Santa left a note for me and asked me to put their gifts under the tree for him because he has to go to every house in the world and was running a little behind...I also told her that Rudolph had a tummy ache.So she set out some Childrens Pepto Bismol on the plate of cookies for Santa in case they did stop by and went back to bed.

  2. I would cover it up like the first poster. LOL

I had to do it with the Easter Bunny one year- cost me $30 to fix that mistake but I will spare the details.
