I'm 14 and I've had glasses for 3,4 years and I really want contacts cause I don't look very well in glasses. Problem is both my parents think glasses hurt your eyes and neither trust the doctor any suggestions?

  1. They don't hurt your eyes if you use them correctly. I'm 16 and I've just started on them a month ago.

Are you responsible? Can you maintain your hygiene and be patient? If yes, contacts may be for you. They should be taken seriously because they can cause infections and harm.

The reason I switched to contacts was because I find myself looking better without glasses. They have also improved my self esteem at school.

You should show them how responsible you are and keep convincing them from every angle until they listen. If they don't listen to the doctor, then ask if they're even qualified to make presumptions like that.

If they agree, they will take you to the doctor who will train you to use them and put you on a trialling period for around a week. Use this time wisely to show your parents!

    Good luck! :)

  2. Just ask ur parents to try it once because nothing ever hurt from trying something, inless its not food or something crazy.

  3. u should tell them to let u try them u can get a sample

  4. Contacts are completely safe. But they may cause discomfort or difficulty when you first put them on. But after a short while it goes away and you become a pro.  I say try them. This is your self-esteem at stake here.
