they did sloppy work just to get done? If so, how many times would you make them do it over again?

For those who are curious about my answer...it is yes I do. I have had my daughter do her work over, but it has only been where she has done it over twice (in total the same work 3 times). She finally decided that it really DOESN'T take that long to do it neatly. She likes to rush and has no concern over the neatness of her work even though we have explained how important it is.

  1. Yes, sometimes I get so mad at him i make him do it all over.

  2. Yes if I cant read it then neithe can the teacher so they have to sit down and redo it until it is neat and all can read it.  My son is stubborn so it may take him 20 times to do it but usually my daughters get it on the second try.  Now that school is almost over they have all figured out better to do it once and it be right than to spend an hour on one assignment.  At a parent teacher conference my sons teacher asked me how come his work was always neat a lot of the kids in his class just scribbled it down and turned it in and I told her what I did, she thanked me and said it would be a big plus for him as he got older.
