Parents don't understand!?

Ok so here's the story. I am 15 and really want a cell phone. I have been asking my parents for at least a year, maybe more. But here's the problem: Every time I try to sit down and talk to them about it they say, "A 15 year old does not need a cell phone!!!!" I try to explain to them I have looked up the plans, phone everything! But they say I won't be able to afford it. I can afford the phone! I have a lot of money saved up and I babysit afterschools so I can afford the monthly bills and the phone! I just don't understand. They think I should just talk on the phone and "I will learn bad communication" I will not be like those people who are on their phone 24/7. I want one to keep in touch with friends and I will be driving soon! I just don't understand why they have to be so stubborn! I get really good grades, I practice my musical instruments :) and I don't hang out with bad people. I don't smoke or do drugs and I don't party. So basically my question is... how do I talk to them about it without them saying no right away or to persuade them hehe. If you were in my situation how did you let your parents let you get a cellphone? I'm just really frustrated with this! Please don't be rude, I would just like some advice.

  1. its not at all a problem ya............  just bet with for them anything if i get good marks......... like something........... or u just get the mobile from ur savings and use without there knowledge but be care wile using............many of them using lik that only nowadays

  2. Okay, So I never really had this problem, my parents gave me a cell phone when I went into high school but I think maybe I can help. Do you do any after school activities? if not join one. If you're in an after school activity you will need a cell phone because what if it gets canceled or ends early or goes late? you'll need a way to give this information to your parents and let them know where you are. Thats why my parents decided I needed a cell phone.

If that doesn't work you can always buy a pre-paid phone, like virgin mobile or tracphone or something like that. If you buy one of those the entire bill is under your control, you don't need a credit card or parental  permission. if you get a phone like virgin mobile, you can hide it from your parents (though of course I wouldn't suggest it) and they never have to know.

  3. my friend got a cp at 15 and her parents are SUPER picky

  4. I would either go buy the phone myself since you have the money or I would persuade them hehe by telling them that the reason you need a cell phone is because its good to have when you go out in case something happens..lets say theirs an emergency and you need to call for help. That line should def work and hey its partially true cell phones are good to have in case of an emergency. And its also good in case they want to get a hold of you!! especially since you will be driving!

Just tell them that and hopefully they will change their mind :)

  5. If you are the one paying for it, then they cannot keep you from getting a cell phone... Just go out and buy you one. Or tell them to let you borrow theirs and let you show them you can be responsible... do like a trial run.

  6. Just get 1

get a prepaid card to register (gift card) to register as a credit card

get bills sent to the house

    there ya go.

  7. well i asked my mom what was wrong with having a cell phone in the first place. dont ever say that "my friends have one" it NEVER works. i asked them when was the earliest i could get a cell phone. They said when i started high school. i guess you can also tell the the things that are good about having a cell phone....like if they are wondering where you are they can call you, or if you get lost when you are driving, you can call them. Hope this helped!

  8. explain to them that you would have the money for it every month and if u dont they can take you off the plan. make them feel bad a little bit, tell them you're being made fun of because everyone has one and you dont. tell them that you're a teenage girl and that you need to keep communication with your friends at all times. hope this helps hun.

  9. Well I find the easiest way to get stuff from your parents is to sit down with them and talk to them for a little while don't just walk into the room and ask because that makes it look like you want it and then after a month your not going to use it, so talk to them for about 15 minutes then ask when do you think it'd be a good time for you guys to let me have a cell phone if they say they dont know when dont beg just say ok when you know when can you please let me know... after a week or so they'll feel you've acted maturely under the circumstances and may decide your mature enough to get a cell phone.. if this doesn't work some parents act differently so you parents may just not want you to get a cell phone regardless

  10. Just go buy one yourself since you're gonna be able to drive soon?

  11. ask them this question, what is wrong with having a cell phone?

cell phone dont say they have age limits

what happens if you have a car accident

if they think you could lean bad communication they should take you out of school

cell phone dont change people it is not a responsability its just a communication device
