This law just went into effect on July 1, 2008 and it's about time! Previously Michigan had no law requiring children to use anything other than a seat belt at 4 years of age. Now children age 4 until age 8 (or when they reach 4' 9") must be in a booster seat. Here is some more info: http://www.michigansafekids.org/newlaw.php
If you are a parent in Michigan, were you aware of the new law? I don't think the government did a very good job publicizing this, I ran across it and had to tell many of my friends with children in this age range about the change...
