Question:

Parents keep the house at freezing temperatures?

My parents hate the heat, but I hate the cold.

They say "It's easier to warm up than cool down".

They keep the house at 65 degrees and I know they know I am cold.

What are some suggestions to warm up?

Oh, and it's "rude to wear a jacket or sweatshirt to dinner" so I always freeze while I'm eating.

  1. set the house on fire. :)

  2. ask them to make it one or two degrees warmer...

  3. Can't you wear long sleeve shirt.

  4. Oh, my god.

My parents do the exact same thing, but I love the cold :)

    Okay, here's what to do:

-close the door to your bedroom so some heat could get trapped in

-move frequently, so your body stays warm

-eat hot stuff and drink warm water instead of cold

-wear many layers. starting from the moment you wake up, put on like five layers and take one layer off after each passing hour and by dinner time, you will be used to the cold

-cuddle up to your siblings and steal their body heat (haha)

-cuddle up to your dog/cat and steal their body heat

-wear socks and a hat because heat is lost the most through these two areas

    good luck~ :D

  5. They know your cold! 65 is cold, we keep our's at 70 and sometimes I think that is to cold. So wear a sweater, and sox's to dinner, And who said it is rude to wear a sweatshirt to dinner? And if it was your parents just say "It is easier to warm up than to cool down" A little compromise would be nice. I would just dress warm in the house, sweats, slippers, heavy sweater, wool sox's, Is your food cold too? Good Luck.!!! Oh and a nose warmer.

  6. thats the same with my parents...i just deal with it, or cover up with a blanket

  7. lol! yea its rude. But you are reallllyy that that cold, then you should talk to your parents and ask them to excuse you at the dinner table so that you can keep warm while you eat!

-good luck at dinner tonight and keep warm lol!

  8. layer up your clothes and wear some socks haha

  9. Put a ski mask on to keep your face warm...plop down at the dinner table and say, "so, what are we having?"...lol.  I'm just kidding.  I agree w/ your parents that it's easier to layer up.  Wear slippers and socks....that (and your head) is where the most heat escapes.

  10. It sounds like prison! Why won't they turn it up? Well some suggestions would be to wear a sweater in the house, and if you can't wear one to the dinner table, then maybe ask them can you eat in your room , since they want to keep it so cold? I just feel like parents should try to make their children comfortable in their own home. If you can't be comfortable in your own home, then where are you going to be comfortable? That 's another suggestion, try this, when it's time to eat, have one of your friends already invite you to dinner. When your parents get sick of you leaving for dinner, or anything else just to get out of the house, then maybe this would be your chance to voice your opinion on how cold the house is.

  11. just  tell  them

  12. get a job and buy a portable heater for yourself , offer to pay for the electricity to run the heater.

  13. Wear whatever you want at dinner, haha.

Why dont you let them know? its so simple...
