Parents let me have a myspace but don't trust me with it?

Ok, i know what your going to say, they are just trying to protect me. I know, myspace - bad because some girls put personal info on the page, and things like that. I am not like that. This is whats happening with me. My parents KNOW i have a myspace and is alright with it. But my older brother, just found out i have one and it got my parents panties in a bunch. i am very secluded with my page. i make sure nobody can contact me, not even people i know, no personal info is given away, nothing bad whatsoever. now they are in a rush saying how they are going to search my computer unexpectedly, and things like that. thats why when i made my myspace i made a whole new e-mail address my parents don't even know about because they gave me their consent about having one, they should trust me with it. why cant if they don't trust me having one in the first place, they just tell me to delete it? i would just delete it. i do have a few pictures. not even bad ones or anything. and my parents say that they dont want me having pictures on it even though i only add people i know, and my page is private. i am very responsible with my myspace, but what do i do with my parents?

I know, they are just trying to be protective and are obviously being WAAY over protective

I guess just try telling them that you aren't letting anyone you don't know   on and how safe you're being idk sorry that was no help

just show them your page and point out that you know all the people and are being careful ect

they will feel alot better even so your older brother so he doesnt give them more panties in bunches lol

if you want them to trust you (assuming you are at least 13 and not using myspace illegally) then just give them your email and password so they can log into it any time they want to check up on you - after a year or two, they will see how responsible you are being

just tell them everything you are telling us here. you sold me, so im sure you can sell them. just give them a little puppy dog look while your telling them. they have nothing to be worried about with you and your myspace. Tom is very careful. Im pretty sure the only people that have something bad happen to them with myspace is because they give out info and talk to people they dont know. with your myspace private and all, no one could find out any of your personal info.

My parents didn't want me to get a Myspace either after the headlines it made on the news a couple years ago concerning girls getting tricked into meeting up with people they met online&&ending up getting raped or killed.

Have you showed them what your page looks like?

You could just say you canceled your account, but I wouldn't lie like that if I were you.

You should try earning their trust.
