I am thinking about starting my own party in a box type buisness. I love planning parties and have seen the party in a box websites and noticed that they really only include paper plates, table cloths, cups and favors. I would love to make my own party in a box site (with a differnt name) that would include everything needed for a kids party excluding the cake/food

I thought this would be great for parents who don't have the time or don't like to spend time shopping around and planning all the details of the party

This is what it would include

Invitations (Send them out if they choose)

Cups

Plates

Napkins

Silverwear

Table Cover

Balloons

Streamers

Other Decorations

Props

Games/Activities

Favors

Special Hat/Gift for Birthday Child

Party Guide Book

Thank You Notes

I plan on having themes but would also work with a parent and child to create a cutome birthday party to fit there interests

So please let me know ur opinions and if you or a friend would use this?

  1. It would really depend on the price.  If it were reasonably priced, I'd be all for it.  But I can see stuff like that getting prohibitively expensive.  Maybe offer a variety of options at different price-levels.  Like one with so many of the items for cheap, with more items for a little more, and so on and so forth.

  2. I love this idea!  You're so clever and you really got all the important stuff included!  This would make it so much easier for parents.  I would suggest a couple more themes:

science (can make homemade slime and stuff)

magic show (can't remember if you listed it)

    farm/horses

    zoo

    safari

Sorry if I repeated any you already listed.

  3. I personally hate those type of "boxes" - they sell them on all sorts of websites - amazon.com, oriental trading co.  I try to spend the least amount of money I can without sacrificing quality - therefore, I shop around alot.   But I guess for those parents with lots of money and no time, it would be a good idea.  You have to compare how much you would charge to those who are already doing such things.  Don't quit your day job yet.

  4. you could send food ideas or even some food like candy or cake mixes if it went with the theme

sounds pretty good.....i might buy it

  5. I would definitely look into it.. I have the hardest time planing parties.. So I would pay a little extra for a some help.. My daughter is 7 and we have just been having her parties at fun places because I can never thing of anything to do at home.. We had a great idea to do Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.. But my small skills as a party specialist killed that one!! lol

  6. I think you should exclude the gift for birthday child I think that is something a parent should pick out for a child. Otherwise it sounds like a good idea. I would carge somewhere between 25-50 depending on how expensive the things you have to buy are maybe closer to 100. That is a good idea I hope you have success.

  7. i think it's a great idea, and i'm sure it would save people a lot of time!  i know i would use it, and i'm sure my friends and family would too....good luck!

  8. That's a wonderful idea, good luck! Just keep the price reasonable, and offer tiered packages (e.g. silver, gold, platinum level) to suit everyone's wallet

  9. That's a great idea!

I would defiantely buy them. I have 4 kids and my life is so busy and that would save me a loy of time.

What would be the price though?

  10. you could really make a killing on this..  last yr we spent 1200 for my sons first bday party for less than 20 guests.  we spent over 1500 this yr for my sons 2nd bday at home for about 30 guests.   that includes renting a tent for the backyard and a large jumper w/a slide and very nice take home gift bags and custom invitations.  you can make some awesome ones w/photoshop and print them at walgreens or walmart....

dont be shy about your prices...  in spite of this so called 'recession' people are still spending like crazy and those people are going to be your bread and butter.  : )  advertise yourself in upscale playgyms and places like that.
