Question:

Parents of Children W/ Heart Monitor?

We have adopted triplets and one of them has a heart monitor. While we know how to keep her safe and everything, I was wondering what you did to ensure comfort in your child. I think it may be because of the tube on her body and the actual monitor. She sleeps less than the other two and often seems to be in discomfort, her pediatrician checked her out recently and said she is fine, no new heart problems. She has a crib but often sleeps in her bassinet in our room. She is the only child with a bassinet. Any suggestions on how we could help her?

  1. My daughter is on a heart monitor. Basically I have found that gently wrapping her in a recieving blanket helps keep her comfortable when wearing it. Keep her in the bassinet, as she should be close to you, make sure she doesn't get overheated, keep all fabrics light and breathable. This is what I am doing, but I think too its important not to let yourself get too stressed over it. the baby can pick up on that.
