Parents of children with cleft lip and pallet........?

Question

Did your child need to go through speech therapy? If so, how much and at what age did you start them? I have a 15 month old girl who has had her lip/nose and pallet repaired, but now it's very apparent she will need some speech therapy. She's having a hard time making out many words. It's not much of a surprise since I was warned from the beginning from her doctor. Thank you to those who have some honest words to share.

I am not the parent of a cleft baby, but my cousin and I are very close and her son has a cleft. He is 5mo. and she has 4 different Early Childhood Intervention peopel coming to her home once a month. One of them is a speech therapist.
