Parents of unvaccinated children.......?

For the parents that have unvaccinated children especially infants and toddlers, how do you prevent your children from getting sick especially from severe diseases such as hib and meningitis. Do you try to keep them at home as much as possible? Do you allow them to play with other infants and children that may or may not be vaccinated? Do you take them into public places? I was wondering because my sister is pregnant and she doesn't want to vaccinate her son but she is worried about taking him into public places knowing that he could possibly contract a severe illness.

  1. You keep their immune system as strong as possible with vitamins and such, avoiding kids that just got vaccinated with live virus's since they can carry them. We go everywhere just like anyone else. I've never been vaccinated and I never contracted anything and I went to public school my whole life (contrary to uneducated belief  unvaccinated people can go to public school)

The above I'm talking about the US

  2. Some of these diseases are almost non existent.   For example, there is almost NO chance of any child catching polio.

Other parents don't have their child vaccinated against all illnesses out there and yet they don't keep their children at home either.

As far as catching the disease, sometimes the possible side effects of the vaccinations are  worse than the disease itself!

My children do have  all of them, but that was before I took it upon myself to educate myself about the actual dangers of the diseases VS the dangers of possible side effects of the vaccination.  If I were to have any more children ,they wouldn't be vaccinated either.

  3. Does she really want to take such a chance with her childs health?  What if the child breaks a leg and has to go to the hospital?... The waiting room in emergency is the most likely place to catch something, despite precautions and waiting a long time for treatment? Also, here in Ontario, they (School boards) will not allow a child to attend school unless they have the recommended vaccinations.

  4. Think about it, the reason the unvaccinated kids are *almost-but not quite* safe is because of the responsible parents that care enough to vaccinate their children. Because of the concern about disease, parents have vaccinated for decades and therefore other parents can be more careless in regards to their own children's health.

  5. chiropractor.

i know mine is compeltely against that, so that means he probably thinks getting adjusted can help prevent stuff like that.

but, i think getting vaccinated is definately the best way to go.
