Did you have a favorite age (child's age)? If so, when and why?

(I've been saying "this is my favorite age" since my oldest son was 1 month old. He's 3 1/2 now and I'm still saying it, LOL.)

  1. My daughter is only 10 months, but my mom said she had 2 favorite ages for me. The first was around kindergarten age b/c I went to a.m. kindergarten and we'd go shopping every friday afterwards. We had a lot of time to hang out then. And now (i'm 21) is her other favorite (even tho i'm no longer a child), but we're finally at a point where we are each other's best friend's. We both confide in each other and I can do so comfortably without fearing getting in trouble!

  2. My favorite age of a child is between the ages of 4 and 6.

Skip to the teenage years. You will survive.

When the "child" becomes an adult and realizes that what you tried to teach him does make sense after all,  is when you can truly enjoy the friendship of your child.

Raise him well and you have a friend for life.

  3. My daughter is 3 1/2 years old and my son is 3 months.  My mom used to say that 3 months was her favorite age and I agree.  I love that they are still infants but cooing and smiling but also sleeping through the night.  I really get to enjoy my baby.

  4. Definitely the teen years, especially between 13 and 16. They are just so fascinating and fun! They haved developed genuine talents and abilities, they can have intelligent conversations on an adult level, and they are beginning to find themselves as unique persons.  They are witty and funny, at times so grown up and at times still little kids.  They're still  dependent enough on you to keep you in their lives, but they can fend for themselves when you need time to yourself.  Too bad that just when parenting is most fun, they grow up and leave :(

  5. I have two boys (13 & 16).  My wife enjoyed the toddler years, but these are my favorite years.

At this age, you can play with them and the games are actually competitive.  If you play sports with them, it's a battle of your experience versus their youth.  The only problem is that when you teach them what you know, then they have youth and experience.  I always tell them that I haven't taught them all of my tricks yet.

Also at this age, you don't have to do everything for them, but when they ask for help, I feel real special, because those chose me to come to for help.

At this age, they are becoming their own person.

It's also nice at this stage to look back at their life and Thank God that you haven't screwed up as a parent.  Thankfully, they have actually turned out to be polite and respectful teen-agers.

I don't think I'm going to like it when they're older, because they will move out and I'm going to lose 2 of my closest friends.

  6. I have two boys 7 & 11.  It's always my favorite time - even when they are driving me nuts!  There's always something amazing, cute, inspiring going on.  Keep having fun!!!

  7. Yep!

    Right now.

It will always be right now.

They are 36 and 30 "right now"
