If I was a parent I would want a someone loving genuine responsible and caring, someone who would never prioritise ones own pleasure above that of the safety of children, so it would have to be an anti-Mc.

Peoples opinions on the McCanns doesn't make them any more or less capable of looking after children.

I would ask someone who considers the welfare of the child first and foremost, not someone who thinks its just fine to neglect children.  Therefore it would have to be an anti as all the pro's seem to think that the McCanns behaviour to their own children was acceptable.

I would never choose a babysitter on the basis of their support of the McCanns.  To do that would show a total lack of responsibility and care towards my beloved children.

I wouldn't want either one babysitting my kid. Neither one has the credentials to babysit. But I would rather have McCain as President because Obama is Socialist and they want to take control of our kids away from us and give it to the government.

An OBAMA supporter may want to CHANGE the living room.

An Obama Supporter may wish to leave your child alone while they canvas the neighborhood getting people to pay for your babysitting.

i do not go for all this anti or pro stuff!

what I do go by is a persons point of view on what was at the very least child neglect resulting in the death of a child.

Any one who would condone such an action would not get near my children, and for those who condemn such an action would have my approval but not acsess to my children.

no one other than my imediate family were allowed to mind my children simply because I actually do love my children

Interesting answers here. I think somewhere along the line someone got a bit confused as we started off debating about the parents of Madaeline and ended up with American politics! Personally, i don't think anyone can completely judge the McCanns. I am sure we have all done things in the past which we have regretted but may not have had such a life changing outcome (ie leaving the children whilst going for food) I have been on holiday and thought about going for something to eat whilst my chlid slept only meters away. (taking baby monitor with me) As it was, i didn't as the in laws stayed in the apartment whilst we went to eat, but the thought had been there. I think of myself as a good mother and personally would not leave my child with just anyone. It has become a very grey area, been highlighted by the tragic scenario of The McCanns. They now have to live with what they did for the rest of their lives.

I don't understand the question.  Of course, if looking for a babysitter I would want to find someone who I felt was caring, reliable and responsible.  It would not be top of my list of priorities to ask what they believed about the McCann case.

Edit: FIVE people gave me a thumbs-down because I said I thought it more important to find a babysitter who was caring, reliable and responsible than to find one who had an opinion about the McCann case!!!  People, people, where are your priorities in life?!?
