Question:

Parents wont teach me how to drive?

My parents have always been the type that make us do everything by ourselves. So I'm 18 and I have my permit but I ask my parents to take me for practice driving but they never want to help yet they want me to learn how to drive. It bothers me that they don't want to teach me how. I'm going to start college and I have no car so I'm going to have to take the bus (which I don't mind) Yet its hard to get a job that is near campus so everything is difficult without a license. How am I suppose to learn to drive with no money to get lessons or anyone who is willing to teach me?

  1. take the bus to a job

use money from job to get driving lessons

or have your friends teach you

  2. This is so bad for you. I wanted to be sure that my children were good drivers. The only way to become a good driver is to spend time behind the wheel. We went out one hour every evening. They had to pass my "final exam" which was driving the expressway into Chicago, drive downtown Chicago, park, go get an ice cream, then drive back home. By then, I knew they were good drivers and I didn't have to worry about them being on the road. Point out to your parents that you need practice to become a good safe driver. It is good to teach your children to be able to do things for themselves, but learning to drive is not a do it yourself project.

  3. ask them to pay for your lessons since they won't teach you, or pay for half of it by getting a job somewhere and making an effort to do so.

  4. wow ur parents r messed up.  if u have ur permit jus like jack a car and boom

I am new to making easy money on the internet, and always thought it was a scam. I tried this website and they actually send you a check in the mail if you watch $10 worth of advertisements which is cake. All it is, is 30 sec that you have to view the advertisement. You earn money for each advertisement you view. All I did was make a free account on it, watch a few advertisements, then I got a check in the mail and it worked. I didn't think they would really send the check, but sure enough I received it. For more info or to join, click the link below. 5. explain to your parents how you explained it here and if that doesn't work you've got to have a friend that will teach you. parents don't always hear you try e-mailing them your problem they'll read it and maybe it will sink in

  6. Don't they have driver Education in your high school?  They have it in most schools but since you have already graduated, it is to late to take it.

Ask a friend to teach you or your minister, a neighbor just anyone that you know.  You are right that it will take lots of practice.  Some people get the hang of driving right a way, others do not have the natural ability and it will take them longer to learn.

    Good luck and drive safely!

  7. well tell them the same thing you told us.. maybe they'll listen to you. or not just get out in the street with some of your friends that got license and are atleast 21 or 20 years of age.

  8. lol your parents are just bein' typical parents.if you have any older siblings or any friends who could just take you thats obviously fine.

or steal the car, wreck it,tell them it was an accident, then they will have to teach you! ahaha :) good plan.

  9. RUN AWAY TO MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    VIVA MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THERE NO LEGAL DRIVING AGE IN MEXICO!!!

at least not one that is in forced

    VIVA MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

......................................... MEXICO!!!!! (i live in CT) VIVA CONNECTICUT!!!!!!!

  10. well, you are 18 years old now so it will help allot if you started working on like a summer job , earn some money and get some driving lessons (if your parents want you to drive) .

  11. take drivers ed. if you have permit from drivers ed, just take the car.

  12. Tell your parents that if they dont want to teach you to give you the money, if they dont give you the money, keep asking for driving lessons (every day), eventually they'll crack. Good luck!!!

  13. Your 18, your an adult. You can just go straight to the DMV and take the driving test. You don't even need to go to driver's ed. If you have a permit, shouldn't you already know how to drive. A permit is the same as a license except you don't need another licensed driver in the car with you. And if your 18 and your parents still don't want to teach you to drive, that is just pathetic.

  14. Your teacher does not have to be a parent.  Find someone else like a friend.  If I had someone who swept my leaves for a month, I would give them lessons.  Just make sure you know them.  If you don't have money for lessons?  Where is the car coming from?

  15. your parents are idiots.  The least they could do is get in the car with you and give you some pointers while you drive.

  16. Have you told them how you feel.. Maybe if you told them what you really feel they might help.. Or you could ask a friend or another family member or if you have a boyfriend you could ask him...

  17. i'll teach you

your parents are being *****. you have a right to learn to drive. unless you're a real dumbass, you have every right to drive and get around.

  18. If you have any friends or siblings that could teach you that would probably be the best. If you live on a non-busy street you could practice on there or find a vacant parking lot to practice but then the downside is the rules. Another thing is learning how to drive manual(stick shift). You'll definitely need somebody to show you that but if your parents aren't willing look for somebody locally

  19. That happen to me. USE the bus like you said. Then you have to wait patiently for someone to teach you. You will be okay! don't fret....

  20. oki doki

    you need a car...

your parents your parents should undrestand that..

and you should sit down and talk to them

you should try to ask them to help you if you rly cant go anywr that others can teach you...

but if they cant look into drivers ed.

    :D

    gud luck

and its importent to put it to the back of your mind

  21. IF YOU'RE 18 YOU SHOULD HAVE FRIENDS THAT DRIVE ALREADY SO JUST ASK ONE OF THEM TO TAKE HALF HOUR OUT OF THEIR DAY TO TEACH YOU.

  22. If you have no money for lessons, you don't have money for a car, either.

It doesn't make much sense to learn to drive, in that case.

  23. Go to the nearest shop by you or go to town, get a job or lend money from your parents and then you can learn to drive then.

  24. Tell them you will take the test without their help and if you get into an accident and it costs a lot of money to fix the damages, you can blame them for not teaching you.

  25. Well, if your parents will not teach you to drive, you have a few options.  Does your school offer driver education classes?  They will teach you how to drive.  Also, there are driving schools out there.  Of course, this costs money.  Have you tried asking another relative to help you? Maybe they will teach you.  You can gets a learner's permit,  if you already do not have one, which allows you to drive only if you have a licensed driver with you at the time.  I highly do not recommend driving with a learner's permit without a licensed driver, since if you get caught, you can lose the right to get your license for a long time.  Trust me on that one...check out http://www.aaa.com, since they may offer classes in your area.  Does that help you?

  26. You don't want to start driving an automobile right now.  Taking the bus is "greener", if you will, and costs a lot less than gasoline.  Hang in there, sweet pea.

  27. maybe a friend can teach you, or you could try it your self (just know how to stop the car) just try it yourself in the parking lot when its not full like in the early morning or around the neighborhood in the early morning. ya good luck!

  28. do you have any friends who will ? just start crying and tell them how upset you are. sometimes it takes tears to show how serious you are

  29. Why don't you tell your parents the jist of what you said in your question? Maybe plan it a little beforehand so you don't forget anything, get emotional, or sound like an idiot. If you can give an organized and calm statement of your concerns, maybe they will be receptive.

Or, pay a friend/relative for gas money in exchange for using their car.

  30. go practice yourself!!!

    you are 18!!!!!!!!!!!

    get a job, buy a S****y car!

you can find an ugly piece of c**p car for 200 bucks if you look hard.

  31. ask anyone with a license to teach you.
