Hello. My husband and I are going to Paris in late June, but we need to leave our currently flat a months before arriving in Paris. We want to ship 2 boxes ahead of us but don't have an address yet. Is it possible to ship to a general post office in Paris and then go and pick them up with our passports upon arrival? -Thanks in advance!

  1. Check with any large courier firm such as DHL or UPS, FedEx who might offer the service. But usually, they'll charge a stiff demurrage- or- rent for storing it in their warehouse.

  2. Hi, in fact it's very simple. You don't need an address to deliver something in France. the name for this option is " poste restante ".

    An example :

You're planing to travel to Paris and you will stay near the Champs Elysee. You just have to send yous stuffs at your name at the post office of the Champs elysees.

When you arrive in france you just have to go to the post office and present your ID.

  3. If you going to send it to a post office in a large city like Paris you had better check with them first. In a big office like that it is unlikely that you will ever see that package again.

  4. Yes, use the Poste restante service.

If you already know the zip code where you will be staying at, enter it on this Website: http://www.laposte.fr/rubrique.php3?id_r...

    under Code postal/Cedex,

    then click on + Recherche.

Post office addresses display. Choose the one nearest to your address.
