  1. Are you doing all this in one day? Buy 1-use metro passes, they're good for getting in the metro, then to get out the metro. You have to buy one for each time you get in and out. Also get a map, it's REALLY EASY to travel in metro. You won't get lost, I assure you.

    here's a huge map: http://www.ideamerge.com/motorhomes/fran...

    Print it!

    Ok, from:

    CDG> Notre Dame

You see the blue line that it's named "B"? It begins at the very top on your right. Get into that one and descend on SAINT-MICHEL NOTRE DAME. When you get out of the metro you'll see the Cathedral to your right.

    Notre Dame> Tour Eiffel

According to this map, the easiest way would be to get into C line and descend in CHAMPS DE MARS - TOUR EIFFEL

You got it right. Champs Elysees is not that far from the Tower. What you could do once at the tower is cross to the Trocadero Fountains and get into that metro station, in the map it says TROCADERO, get into line 9, the green one, then descend in FRANKILN D. ROOSEVELT and there get into line 1, the yellow one, and descend in the first stop which is CHAMPS ELYSEES - CLEMENCEAU

  2. The best thing for you to do is to familiarize yourself with the Paris métro system. It is very easy, just go to their website: http://www.ratp.fr/ and click on the flag to display the page in English. Then you can use their trip planner tool or download a map of the subway that you can print.

Also the Champs Elysées is a very long avenue (5 métro stops) running from Charles-de Gaulle Etoile to Concorde.

AS for the cheapest way to travel that day, get a Mobilis day pass zones 1-5. It will cost you 12.50 € for the whole day and will save you the hassle and time of buying tickets for each trip.

If you have never taken a subway in any city and are completely unfamiliar with subway systems, just e-mail me through my profile and I will be happy to explain how the Paris métro system works. You will feel far more confident traveling in Paris if you understand how it works rather than by relying on directions given by people. In case a line was closed for some reason, you would need to choose an alternate route. Trust me, it is VERY EASY to understand so don't be afraid to ask.

  3. The Parisian metro is fairl easy to navigate, especially if you buy a one day pass. Here's a link to a metro map.

  4. If I might suggest...go to the farthest place first and work your way back.  I consider that to be the Eiffel Tower.  You could take RER B to Denfert Rochereau, then transfer to Metro Ligne 6 direction Charles de Gaulle Etoile.  Get off at either Bir Hakeim or Trocadero and walk toward the tower -- you can't miss it.

Afterwards, get back on Metro Ligne 6 direction Charles de Gaule Etoile and ride it to the end.  Go up to street level and you're at the Champs Elysees.

You could walk all the way down to Notre Dame and see lots of stuff, but be warned that it is a very very long walk.  You might choose to get on the Metro or a bus before getting all the way there.  You would need Ligne 1 of the metro, direction Chateau de Vincennes.  Get off at Hotel de Ville and walk across to Notre Dame.

To get back to the airport, get back on RER B direction CDG at either St. Michel-Notre Dame or Chatelet.

When you buy your metro/rer ticket make sure to ask for a plan of the system.  It's a nice little fold up version that contains the metro and RER on one side and bus lines on the other.  I've just about worn mine out!
