Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 Valenciennes FC - Ligue 1 match report
Cash-laden Paris Saint-Germain finally won their first game of 2011/2012 Ligue 1 Championelle against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Gameiro-c20721 and Nene.
PSG entered the weekend clash with their heads held high as they were fresh from last week’s 4-0 victory in the UEFA Europa League over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luxembourg-c2945 club, Differdange. In contrast, Valenciennes FC had failed to win their last seven Ligue 1 games.
Marquee signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 and star in the match against Differdange was expected to make his debut in Ligue 1 for PSG did not appear until the last 35 minutes remaining in play.

Much of the game proceeded with both teams attempted shots on goal that failed to trouble the goalkeepers.
In the 39th minute, a great counterattack was initiated by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zoumana-Camara-c38101 from Les Parisiens box as he made a great tackle to win the ball from Matthieu Dossevi and passed the ball to Jeremy Menez who threaded a through ball to Gameiro who controlled
the ball with his right foot before chipping it with his left past the charging goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Penneteau-c27844, to take the lead.
Les Rouge-et-Bleu weren’t able to maintain their lead for long as VAFC came back in the added time of first half when Renaud Cohade’s cross from the right side found Remi Gomis’ powerful header went to the left of the diving Sirigu, leaving him with no chance
and the score line was levelled before the half-time whistle.
Antoine Kombouare, coach of the capital club, decided to introduce the Argentine international Javier Pastore to weave his magic on the field in the 58th minute. The former Palermo playmaker’s touch on the ball was cheered by the home crowd as
Les Parisiens desperately looked to take the lead again.

time in the game.
Just three minutes later, Gameiro missed another good chance when his shot sailed over the bar after receiving a through ball from Nene.
Paris Saint-Germain managed to hang on to their single goal lead as Les Atheniens came close in attempts to equalise. Cohade’s shot was too high to even test the Italian goalkeeper.
Valenciennes are yet to taste victory in 2011/2012 Ligue 1 season. With two defeats and a draw they are placed at the 19th position. On the other hand, PSG have improved their standings and entered the top 10, just above defending Champions LOSC
Lille Métropole in the ninth place.
