According to RMC, Paris Saint-Germain sporting director http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Internacional-c39573 striker Leandro Damiao over a possible move to the Ligue 1 side this January
Paris Saint-Germain were left with a bitter taste in their mouth after they failed to secure the services of Brazil international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-Pato-c4901 from Italian Serie A side AC Milan.
The striker was reportedly open to a move to Parc des Princes but Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi intervened in order to make the youngster stay at the San Siro. The Milan supremo in Pato, sees a future star who will match the achievements of former Milan
man Kaka.
However, Leonardo and co have not given up hope on bringing a striker to the Parc des Princes. Reports now claim that sporting director Leonardo has already reached a verbal agreement with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 international Leandro Damiao over a possible move to PSG this
January.
The 22-year-old striker has been hotly linked with moves to top European clubs. The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are all reportedly keen on signing the youngster. However, Internacional are proving to be a thorn for all the suitors.
Reports claim that the release clause on Damiao’s contract is estimated at a whooping 60 million Euros which is something not many clubs would be able to afford. However, it has also been suggested that the club will be willing to enter into negotiations
with a club that makes a bid in the region of 25 million Euros.
Latest reports now claim that new PSG manager, Carlo Ancelotti has identified Damiao as the striker he wants at Camp des Loges.
The young striker initially said in December 2011 that he wanted to stay at Internacional to play in the Copa Libertadores.
“I’ll stay as I want to play in the Copa Libertadores. We have done our duty by qualifying,” said the player.
However, it has been suggested that Damiao may have already given Leonardo the green signal over a move to Parc des Princes which means that PSG could be in line for making a big money signing by the end of the winter transfer window.
