Paris Saint-Germain captain Mamadou Sakho keen on making his comeback – Ligue 1 news
Paris Saint-Germain captain Mamadou Sakho has recovered from a hamstring injury and is keen on making a comeback for Les Rouge-et-Bleu, according to latest reports emerging from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
Following a hamstring injury against Stade Rennais on August 13, 2011, the 21-year-old missed 11 games in a span of two months for PSG. The French defender demonstrated his full fitness under the watchful eye of coach Antoine Kombouare, when he played throughout
the 90 minutes in a 1-2 defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AJ-Auxerre-c38247 reserves at Les Parisiens training base, Camp des Loges.
In a post-match interview to the official PSG website, Kirikou commented on his physical condition, saying, “There is nothing like being back out on the pitch. When you have not played in such a long time, it’s not easy. You could train for a whole year,
but it’s not the same without playing a match. Today I felt good and that is why I kept going for the whole 90 minutes.”
Sakho further added that his recovery is going well and his training with the reserves has improved his physical fitness. He said that the game against Auxerre reserves was very important in helping him comeback to shape
Mamadou Sakho is happy in making a return at a time when PSG are leading Ligue 1 Championelle. In an interview to French sports daily, L’Equipe, the centre-back was quoted saying, “It’s frustrating not to be on the ground and so I had to comeback stronger.
My teammates have done very well.”
Sakho’s performance against Auxerre was encouraging. The France international showed his physical fitness with his qualities in dealing with aerial duels and physical power. Beyond his individual performance, the Paris native also showed great leadership
ability by helping out his fellow youngsters on and off the field.
In an interview to French publication, Le Parisien, the reserves team playmaker Neeskens Kebano was quoted saying, “He communicates a lot on the ground and outside, and he gives great advice and helped me in my place.”
