Paris Saint-Germain disclose financial details for the transfer of Dimitar Berbatov – Ligue 1 news
A few days ago, ambitious Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain were linked with a move for Bulgarian international Dimitar Berbatov who is currently playing for English Premier League giants Manchester United.
Reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 now suggest that the 30-year-old striker is set to meet the direction of the Parisian club. PSG have reportedly made United a 20 million Euros offer for the service of the former Bayer Leverkusen man who scored 20 goals for the Red Devils
last season.
Due to the sudden rise of Mexican international Javier Hernandez, Berbatov lost his place in the starting XI and even failed to make it to the United squad that faced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the final of the Champions League this May.
According to reports in France’s sports daily, L’Equipe, PSG are willing to pay Berbatov 100,000 Euros per week which means that the Bulgarian will earn almost 4.8 million Euros per year at the capital club. However, it remains to be seen whether the Bulgarian
would be looking to take such a pay cut or not.
Currently, Berbatov is earning 126,000 Euros per week at Old Trafford but might be willing to take  a pay cut as he might play more of a peripheral role at Manchester United next season.
Furthermore, with rumours linking http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 in order to make way for the Dutch international who
is being seen as a perfect candidate to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 who retired after the end of the 2010/2011 campaign.
However, joining the Ligue 1 giants could be a tempting offer for Berbatov as signing a contract with Les Parisiens would make Berbatov one of the top earners in the English Premier League.
For their part, PSG are looking to spend even more than 100 million Euros this summer in order to make a strong squad ahead of the new season. The arrival of Berbatov could also spell the end of Turkish International Mevlut Erdinç’s career at the Parisian
club.
