Paris Saint-Germain eye Claude Makelele as potential replacement for Antoine Kombouare – Ligue 1 news

After two successive defeats in the Ligue 1 Championelle, Paris Saint-Germain have slipped down to second place in the standings and trail league leaders Montpellier Herault by three points. A 3-0 defeat in the Clasico at the hands of bitter rivals Olympique
de Marseille on Sunday was PSG’s worst defeat of the season.
Furthermore, the performances of key players especially big-money signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeremy-Menez-c18345 flattered to deceive as PSG were never able to match their opponents at the Stade Velodrome.
Rumours now suggest that sporting director of the Ile club Leonardo is looking at former PSG player Claude Makelele as a potential replacement for the Kanak coach whose future at Parc des Princes has been under scrutiny for weeks.
Though http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 gave Kombouare his full backing in the aftermath of the 3-0 defeat at Rhone, it is likely that Kombouare could be forced out of the club or forced into a resignation as PSG do not want to come under a lot of media criticism for firing him.
Playing for PSG until May, Claude Makelele retired from the club at the end of the 2010/2011 campaign. The former Real Madrid man has abundant experience of playing at the top level and has always been a locker room leader at every club he has played in.
Furthermore, Makelele is still in touch with all the PSG players and is considered to be the kind of person the club could benefit a lot from if he is near the dugout. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mamadou-Sakho-c23293 played with Makelele for almost two years and the young
defender has never hesitated in showing his admiration for the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 man.
While talking to the media a few days back, Sakho said, “Claude, with all his achievements is a great person and we can breathe his aggressiveness. In training he did not want to go soft even in small interceptions. The youngsters see this and want to have
the same attitude.”
With Sakho coming out in the open and stating that the club lacks a charismatic personality like Makelele in their ranks, Kombouare would need to quickly find a way out of a situation that could possibly lead to him losing his players in the dressing room.
