Paris Saint-Germain fix price for striker Mevlut Erdinç to cool off English interest – Ligue 1 news
French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain have fixed the price for want-away Turkish striker Mevlut Erdinç. The Turkish international has long since been linked with a move away from Parc des Princes following the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international Kevin Gameiro
from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Lorient-c39153.
Reports suggest that English Premier League sides Newcastle United and Sunderland are highly interested in the striker’s services. Competition for places in the starting XI in PSG is expected to get tougher following the arrival of Qatar Investment Authority
who now own 70% stake at the club. The Middle Eastern consortium’s arrival has seen PSG make a lot of noises in the transfer window. With the club linked with moves for a host of talented players, a mass exodus of players from the Parc des Princes is expected.
In the now-concluded 2010/2011 Ligue 1 Season, Mevlut Erdinç scored just eight goals in 22 league appearances in the league for Les Parisiens. The Turkish international is reportedly one of those players who might leave the club. Reports in the British media
suggest that Newcastle contacted PSG to inquire about the availability of the 24-year-old. Reports further suggest that PSG have set an asking price of 11.2 million Euros for the striker in order to fend off interest from other clubs. Though the recent arrival
of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Gameiro-c20721 might make things hard for Erdinç in the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 Season, the club is reluctant to let go of the player who they bought for 9million Euros in the summer of 2009.
Erdinç’s contract with the capital club expires in the summer of 2013 which means that Newcastle United and Sunderland will have a lot of bargaining to do with the Parisian club if they are to land the player. Though Erdinç did not have a prolific season
with the club, his work rate and link up play is highly appreciated at Parc des Princes which means that the club will try holding on to the player.
Since joining Les Parisiens in 2009, Erdinç has scored 22 goals in 51 appearances and has been an integral part of a PSG side that is looking to start a new chapter in their history under the guidance of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 who
is expected to become the club’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sporting-89-c40576 Director soon.
