Paris Saint-Germain go official on Blaise Matuidi of AS Saint-Etienne – Ligue 1 news
For a long time, ambitious Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain have been hot on the trail of AS Saint-Etienne midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
However, the Parisian club was waiting for the official announcement of the appointment of Leonardo as the club’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan manager joined the designated position and the Brazilian has already started working
on making the club a stronger unit ahead of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 season.
Since the retirement of former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 man, the
club waited for Leonardo to arrive at the Parc des Princes in order to make any move for the 24-year-old.
Reports in French sports daily L’Equipe now suggest that the club has now officially started work in order to bring the highly-rated defensive midfielder to the now-cash-laden side.  Reports suggest that Les Parisiens are willing to offer Saint-Etienne 13
million Euros for the services of Matuidi.
However, Paris-based Le Parisien suggests that Les Verts are holding out for 15 million Euros for the player but all this could change in the coming days as the midfielder is also reportedly keen on making a switch to the capital of France.
Matuidi’s desire to join the club would also play a big part in the transfer. A few weeks back, the player was quoted saying, “PSG is an attractive destination. It is a great club that can attract any player and they have a good project.”
Though Saint-Etienne initially set the asking price for Matuidi at 13 million Euros, the club feels that it deserves an extra two million Euros for its efforts in making the youngster one of the best defensive midfielders in France.
With the club now having more financial resources than ever, PSG should not be too reluctant to pay two million Euros in bonuses in order to attain the player. Furthermore, PSG have to face competition from the likes of Newcastle United and Turkish Super
Lig side Fenerbahce so http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 would do well to finalise the deal as quickly as possible.
