Paris Saint-Germain in advanced talks for David Beckham’s move to Parc des Princes
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432, has been in talks with French Ligue 1 side, Paris Saint-Germain, for over a month now as his contract with the Galaxy runs out in December.
The 2011 MLS Cup champion has showed mixed responses to leaving Los Galacticos in 2012. PSG, meanwhile, have been continuously pressing the talks with the player.
Prior to the Western Conference championship, Beckham publically said that he would consider moving to Europe only if his physical condition permitted him. Moreover, the player has admitted on several occasions how much his family loves the Southern Californian
life.
However, his future decision to further his career in Europe boils down to two factors: will his age, now 36, allow him to play in competitive European league? And the offer that the French outfit makes for his services.
The second condition might not be a worry for Becks, as PSG are owned by Qatari Investment Authority, who are willing to shell out some of their many millions to lure Beckham to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
Moreover, the sporting director at Parc des Princes, Leonardo http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Araujo-c6435, has seen Beckham play, from his time with AC Milan in 2010.
"I know his history and he doesn't need to tell me his past,” Leonardo said. “He went to Milan and it was the same thing. There is a rapport with him.”
The Galaxy, on the other hand, are trying everything possible to retain their star-attraction at The Home Depot Center. Los Galacticos President, Tim Leiweke, proclaimed that Beckham wants to stay at the Galaxy.
“I believe David will be here again next year,” said Tim Leiweke. “People can make any offer they want. The loyalty he has to this club, because of the way we have treated him and stood by him, is going to be rewarded if we so choose to continue with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409."
Given LA Galaxy’s 2012 schedule, Beckham will a great asset in the squad when the team continue in CONCACAF Champions League knock-out stage and undertake the 2012 MLS campaign to defend their title.
