The French Ligue 1 giants are all set to conduct another spending spree in the upcoming summer transfer window with sporting director Leonardo eying a move for Anzhi midfielder
Jucilei
It has been little over a year when Dagestan-based Russian Premier League club, Anzhi Makhachkala was bought by wealthy oligarch Suleyman Keirimov. Since the takeover, the Russian side has become a major player in recent mercatos. In the winter transfer
window of 2011, several prominent players arrived at the club that included Jucilei, Roberto Carlos and others.
Later on, Anzhi signed Cameron international Samuel Eto’o from Italian Serie A side Inter Milan. However, despite spending so much money, Anzhi are still waiting to see the results of such massive spending.
Russian media Sports Life, claims that Brazilian international Jucilei could be set for a departure come the summer transfer window. Reports claim that the 24-year-old is attracting considerable attention from French Ligue 1 rich-boys, Paris Saint-Germain.
The Parisian giants are set for a gruelling end for the 2011/2012 Championnat and sporting director Leonardo is aware that the club needs to bring in a few more players in order to compete both in Europe and in France next season.
Leonardo wants to bring Jucilei to Parc des Princes this summer. Since arriving at Anzhi from Corinthians in a deal worth 10 million Euros, the defensive midfielder has played 24 games for the Russian side and has scored just one goal.
Despite showing a lot of consistency in his early days, Jucilei has struggled to maintain form among rumours that he is far from settled at the club.
PSG are willing to offer the Brazilian a change of environment but it seems unlikely that Anzhi would yield so easily. The Russians don’t really want to let go of the player but might succumb to his wishes if PSG come up with a good offer.
Both sides have plethora of resources and will surely struggle to find a solution soon. However, Jucilei’s wishes could play an important part in negotiations.
Though PSG have a squad stacked with midfielders, Leonardo is keen on having more strength in a midfield whose credentials have been questioned in recent weeks.
