Paris Saint-Germain sign Blaise Matuidi and Jeremy Menez – official report
After a long wait, ambitious Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain have finally signed France international duo http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Blaise-Matuidi-c7681 and Jeremy Menez.
Following the signings of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Gameiro-c20721 on June 10 and 12 respectively, Les Parisiens had become relatively quiet in the transfer window due to the delay in Leonardo’s arrival at the club as its sporting director.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 has finally succeeded in bringing Blaise Matuidi and Jeremy Menez to the Parc des Princes.
A statement on the official website of PSG read, “With the signatures of Blaise Matuidi and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeremy-Menez-c18345, PSG has restarted its activity in transfer window. Matuidi has signed a three-year contract with PSG. After playing 114 matches for AS Roma, Menez has
signed a three-year deal as well.”
Reports suggest that Les Parisiens paid AS Saint-Etienne 7.5 million Euros (including bonuses) plus Jeremy Clement for Blaise Matuidi. The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has been brought on as a replacement for Claude Makelele and will wear number 14 next
season.
On the other hand, PSG have paid eight million Euros to AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 for the services of Menez and the Parisian club will pay Roma an additional one million Euros of PSG qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season. The youngster will wear shirt number 7
for PSG which was left by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ludovic-Giuly-c22617.
The recent arrivals at the Parc des Princes is a great new for fans who had been expecting a spending spree at the club since the arrival of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 Investment Authority as the club’s new owners. However, the club took its time in hiring new players.
For a long time, Blaise Matuidi and Jeremy Menez had been linked with a move to the Parc des Princes but the two moves took some time in materialising as both clubs were not willing to let go of their prized assets.
Though the Parisians have been slow in the transfer window this summer, the recent signings might just be the start of big moves materialising at a club that has always been considered as one of the most underachieving clubs in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
