Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo targets Serie A side Palermo’s Federico Balzaretti
Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director, Leonardo, is keeping tabs on US Palermo left-back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Federico-Balzaretti-c13451, and is optimistic that he will acquire the former Juventus defender in the winter transfer window.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan coach is already busy targeting potential recruits for winter transfer window. There were rumours in the final days of the summer transfer window that PSG were looking to replace Ivorian left-back Siaka Tiene with Federico Balzaretti,
but a deal could not be finalised with the Palermo before August 31.
However, Les Parisiens’ good relations with the Aquile, courtesy signings of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 seems far from dropping the case and
is confident in signing his first player early in January 2012.
In an interview with TuttoMercatoweb.com, when the Piedmont native was asked about joining Parc des Princes, he said, “In football you never know, but I think at Palermo. What will happen will happen, I'm not used to think what will happen in six months.
Surely the intention is to stay close to my wife.”
According to reports from TMW, the former AC Milan tactician is optimistic about the 29-year-old Italian international. However, the Serie A side seems reluctant to forgo the services of the former Fiorentina man in the winter transfer window. Balzaretti’s
contract with the Italian side expires on June 30, 2013, and the Rosanero will not want to lose a major player in the high season.
Les Rouge-et-Bleu have already proved that they are hard to resist and nothing is impossible for them. If the capital club are well positioned in the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 Championelle and the UEFA Europa League, they will go an extra mile to acquire the Turin-born
defender in order to maintain their position.
Paris Saint-Germain’s summer spending spree resulted in acquisition of nine players worth 80 million Euros. The sporting director is looking to muster a force that will seize the top spot on the podium in Ligue 1 as well as the Europa League.
