A little over a year ago, Stephane Sessegnon chose to leave Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain for English Premier League side Sunderland FC. After a complicated and tricky start to life in the English Premier League, the Benin international has become an
integral part of Sunderland.
In the 24 league games he has played this season, Sessegnon has scored 6 goals and has provided 7 assist. An indispensable part of the Black Cats, the former PSG man admits that things have changed.
The recent turnaround does not displease him and Sessegnon says that he has adapted well to English life and spirit of football in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. At home in England, Sessegnon has no regrets about leaving Ligue 1 where the approach is totally different.
“Since I arrived, I never heard the coach ask us to come back with a point. Here, we play to win. We never started a meeting for a draw. And even when you win 1-0, the idea is to always move forward. It’s simple. We prepare for every game the same way.”
However, Sessegnon admitted his love for Paris Saint-Germain and said that the club deserves to be doing great things.
“Of course. The club deserves to do great things and have big players. Even though I left a year ago now, I always love Paris, and I still have friends there like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Guillaume-Hoarau-c15332, I regularly talk to him.”
However, when asked about a possible return to PSG one day, Sessegnon’s response was cautious and practical. Though the Benin man said that he would not say no to a return to Paris, he knows that it might not be possible considering how far the Ile side
has come since his departure.
Now, PSG under the guidance of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 and Carlo Ancelotti are a totally different side to what Sessegnon left. Les Parisiens are aiming for trophies and big things and might not have much space to accept an old player back.
