The cash-laden club from Paris is reportedly pondering a move for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 star who is keen on seeking a new adventure in his club career
Reports in French and Iberian media claim that Ligue 1 heavy-spenders, Paris Saint-Germain are now targeting a swoop for Portugal international Joao Moutinho is the winter transfer window. The 26-year-old, who is currently under contract at Liga Sagres side
FC Porto, has made no secret of his desire to make a fresh move as soon as a good offer comes by.
In the summer transfer window, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 international was heavily linked with a move to English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. Sadly though, a move never materialised and it was thus confirmed that the versatile midfielder might land at the White
Hart Lane in the next transfer window.
However, it now appears that Spurs are set to miss out on their long-term target after newspapers in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and Portugal claimed that the former Sporting CP playmaker has a change of heart. Reports now claim that Paris Saint-Germain now lead the
race for the signature of the playmaker despite unwavering interest from Russian Premier League giants, Zenit Saint Petersburg.
Spurs manager, Andre Villas-Boas, who managed Moutinho during his time at Porto, was keen on reuniting with his former player this summer but owing to the player’s wage demands and administrative issues, the 22 million euros deal collapsed on the last day
of the summer transfer market.
The 26-year-old is under contract with the Dragoes until 2015 and his club will not let him go for anything less than 25 million euros. And, PSG are willing to meet the Portuguese giants’ financial requirements for the transfer.
However, if Porto are able to qualify for the next round of the Champions League, Moutinho might consider staying a little while longer before leaving in summer.
Reports claim that Moutinho’s agent, Pini Zahavi did try to broker a deal with La Liga giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604. However, the Catalans are blessed with so much talent in the midfield so they will not want to have another creative midfielder in their roster, thus
making way for the likes of Spurs, PSG and Zenit to fight for the player’s signature.
