Since making a big-money move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window from Italian Serie A side Palermo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 international Javier Pastore’s every move on the field has come under a lot of scrutiny. However, his teammate Nene has
come to the aid of the playmaker.
Not really proving to be a star in the making in recent games, Paris Saint-Germain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 is certainly finding it hard to cope with so much pressure surrounding him since his move to the Ile club.
The former Palermo man is yet to give a great performance to silence critics for the time being. Instead, the Argentine has been found wandering like a lost soul in recent games for Les Parisiens. Though he has been very active in front of journalists by
promising better performances in the future, the playmaker is yet to deliver.
After a 0-0 draw against LOSC Lille on Sunday, Antoine Kombouare also showed signs of frustrations at the South American’s inability to hit the ground running in order to justify his hefty price tag.
“He is young. He is 22, and sometimes does stupid things and he still needs to learn to deal with the media. He left Palermo and has found a higher level here. He is not yet the level of Messi, he has much to learn on the field,” said the Kanak coach thus
confirming that Kombouare would certainly not be giving the player any special privileges.
Despite all this, Pastore still has the confidence and backing of his teammates. One of them is Nene who knows all about the ups and downs of football.
While talking to L’Equipe, Nene came to the aid of the young playmaker by saying, “We are not robots. Sometimes it gets worse. But he wants to show his worth and it will come. He is young, shy and has put enormous pressure on him and he has played a lot
of games for the team. We try to help everyone. I have total confidence in him. He is intelligent and helps me a lot in the game.”
Nene’s words would certainly be soothing for the under-fire Pastore. The 22-year-old is yet to prove his true worth to the team but it will only be fair if the youngster is given time to shine as he still needs to adapt to the Ligue 1 which is more physical
than the Italian Serie A.
