Replacing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salvatore-Sirigu-c32282 as the Paris Saint-Germain number one seems to be a tough task for Nicolas Douchez. While talking to the media, the French shot-stopper admitted that he is waiting for the season to end so that he can leave the club
Poor http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Douchez-c27810, a word that is often heard from the mouths of Paris Saint-Germain fans. The PSG custodian joined the club from Stade Rennais last summer and was expected to be the number one at Parc des Princes.
However, things changed quickly for the Frenchman once Leonardo was named as the club’s sporting director. The Brazilian saw fit to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 international Salvatore Sirigu from Italian Serie A side Palermo. The arrival of the Italian meant that Douchez
would always be hard-pressed to stamp his authority in the starting XI.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 did have something in his mind. Former coach, Antoine Kombouare was asked to use Douchez in the Europa League instead of Sirigu. The French custodian did well in Europe but unluckily, PSG’s failure to progress from the group phase meant
that his chances of getting regular game-time diminished too.
Furthermore, some truly great performances from Sirigu mean that Douchez would never be a number one at Parc des Princes.
The Frenchman was present at Rennes during his former club’s 2-1 loss against Marseille. While talking to Rennais’ official website, the 31-year-old spoke about his personal situation at the club.
“I went in another dimension but unfortunately, I have not got the pleasure of playing as much as I want. The experience is still super rewarding and I’m glad to have found this club. after that, late in the season, there will be some proposals and given
that I will be free, we will see what is available to me. I will study what is best, whether to leave or not.”
Douchez is under contract at PSG until 2014 but he has said that he will be free when the season ends which clearly means that he might already have been granted a release for next summer. PSG might not even consider seeking a transfer fee for the experienced
shot-stopper that they signed for free last summer. The winter transfer window has now finished but Douchez may well prove to be a bargain of the summer transfer window.
