The Montpellier president is enjoying Les Parisiens’ poor start to the season, after the cash laden club from Paris took only three points from their opening three games
Like La Paillade, PSG have also started the 2012/2013 Ligue campaign on a bad note, and their early struggles have made the league very interesting.
After three games, both the reigning champions and the Ligue 1 runners-up, have failed to register a win so far.
Louis Nicollin has slammed his team for their lacklustre showing in the league this season. And at the same time, the Frenchman is pleased with their rivals’ poor form.
While talking to reporters, the president of the club from southern http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 stated that MHSC’s failure to hit the top gear is really frustrating. It’s still early stages of the season, but a loss is a loss and things need to change quickly.
"We're not going to stab ourselves, and we're not going to die. But we lost. We lost," he told RMC.
Nicollin added that the players have played with each other for a while and they know each other pretty well. Montpellier have the quality to defend their Ligue 1 crown this season, but if things stay the way they are now, the president feels that it would
be very difficult for Rene Girard’s side to replicate the form that they showed last season.
"We have all the ingredients for success; the lads have played together for a while, and they're quality players. But things look bleak.”
On a question regarding Paris Saint-Germain, who have invested heavily in the mercato this season in order to get their hands on the Championelle, the 69-year-old stated that their rivals’ poor start to the season is a pleasing factor for him.
"Right now, I'm not happy, but when I saw PSG draw 0-0 with Bordeaux, it was comforting. I said to myself, 'They're as stupid as we are.”
Montpellier Herault will travel to Stade Auguste Bonal this Saturday, to take on Sochaux in their next game of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign. And Louis Nicollin will not accept nothing but a convincing win from his side this time around.
