I will be travelling to Paris this Friday at around 3 pm and will be staying there until Sunday afternoon. I've been to Paris about 15 years ago (when I was 15) and don't remember much and it will be my husband's first visit. What do you suggest we do? How can we best see the city in two days?

Also, we'll be landing at Charles de Gaulle. How do we get to Gare du Nord from there? If by train, should I buy a return ticket as we have a flight again from CDG on Sunday?

  1. your really only going to have one full day , plus you will be really jetlagged

so fill the tub and relax till its time to come back!

  2. BOOOORRRRIIIINNNGGGG!!

Museums and stupid little monuments...... Eiffel Tower...... Arc De Triomphe....... i just dont get what there is to it???! Look at it for 5 minutes and that's  it, done talk about a boring holiday.

It's beyond me why people go to this over priced dinosaur of a  city!!! Museums, old boring monuments, are......... it baffles me why people bother. But hey if you wanna go somewhere and be bored i guess you should do it.

  3. Paris offers many delight's but seeing as it is your husbands first time, you will want to show essential sights such as The Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees and Notre Dame Cathedral. The Louvre, home to the Mona Lisa, should also be high on your agenda. It is a pity you will be there for such a short time but I am sure you will both a great time as Paris is a magnificent city.

  4. i just went to Paris in march and when we landed at charles de Gaulle we took a bus to the hotel and then for the nine days we were there we took the metro every place and walked. I liked the Effie tower and we went to the arch de triomph (sorry if these are spelt wrong) and um..... well we went on a boat on the river and we went to notre dame.... oh if you get the chance go to the Latin quarter at night its amazing for real it so cool well have fun hope i helped.

  5. Getting to Gare du Nord from CDG couldn't be easier.   Simply take the RER.  I always buy a return ticket so that I don't have to stand in line again.

Two days isn't much time to visit this magnificent city.  I suggest taking a Bateaux Mouches cruise down the Seine on Friday evening.  That way you can see more, even if you can't visit it all.  It's especially nice in the evening.

The things that you will probably want to spend a little time at are:  Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, Hotel des Invalides, Palais Royal, Place des Voges, and the Latin Quartier.  If you want to visit a museum, I'd suggest a smaller one like Musee Rodin.  The Louvre or d'Orsay would take too big a bite out of your time.

    Have fun!
