Pariya Junhasavasdikul expects a tough challenge at the Mercuries Taiwan Masters
Pariya Junhasavasdikul of Thailand is expecting a tough course challenge, when he tees off at this week’s Mercuries Taiwan Masters.
The Asian Tour event is being played at the Taiwan Golf & Country Club, which is known for its difficult layout.
In addition to that, the event will feature some of the prominent names from the Asian Tour, including the inform Gaganjeet Bhullar, Lin Wen-Tang, Chan Yih-Shin, Prom Meesawat and David Lipsky.
Therefore, it will be a difficult task for Junhasavasdikul to record a strong finish, considering the fact that he is currently having a poor form on the tour.
However, the Thai thinks otherwise. According to him, the difficulty of the course will create a balance between the players and the players with a good short-game technique will have advantage over their competitors.
“I heard the conditions will be a little bit tough,” the one-time Asian Tour winner said. “It is going to be a fair game for everybody. Short game is going to be important. The conditions haven’t changed much so it is going to be a challenge around the greens”.
Talking to the Asian Tour’s official website, he admitted that he was having some swing issues in the past few months.
That was the main reason behind his poor performances this season. He has played a total of 17 events so far this year and managed to make the cut only six times.
Other than the fourth-place finish in the Volvik Hildesheim Open J Golf Series, he has recorded a single top-25 finish so far this year.
He also told that he figured out the mistake that he usually makes while making his swing. However, he does not know how to fix that, especially, when his coach is not present to help him out.
“I have some swing issues. I know I’m taking the swing from the inside and losing my spine angle. I know what I’m doing wrong but I don’t know how to fix it,” he explained.
“I’m quite mixed up with the swing. My coach hasn’t been available for me so it is time for some changes”.
