Park City to witness a new mountain bike series - Athletics news
Just like successful athletes, successful organisers also learn from their experiences and opt to raise the bar of their performances on a daily basis. The practices that are based upon learned lessons are not only cost-effective, but are also more popular
in luring and attracting the common populace.
Understanding this idea well, it is Bob Saffell and his partners that have thought to give the traditional Mountain-Bike series in Park City a new life. To make the event a success, organisers have also planned to introduce some foundational changes into
the format of the event. According to the announced schedule, the Round Valley XC race will kick-off this Saturday.
This is the first year that the Mountain bike series is being organised with a change and improved format. As it has been learnt, the event will be divided into three phases. The first phase had been conducted at the dirt-circuit in Alpine in the late spring,
while the series will be returning back to Park City next month, where a grand marathon stretched upon a distance of 50 miles will also be organised. The final part of the event, known as Super XC, will take place at Draper.
While providing the details of the race, Saffell, the driving force behind this newly formatted event said, “We just started talking about putting a few mountain-bike races together. It’s a little mixture of everything on mountain bikes.”
He was of the view that the primary reason behind choosing Park City for the event was contour of the land, which was extremely biker-savvy in nature. Saffell added, “The trail system in Park City is Amazing. In my mind, it’s one of the ideal places to ride.
We made use of all of our connections up there in the mountain biking community all of them across the board.”
Dwelling upon the number of participants the race expects to facilitate, he said that spectators should hope to see 200 to 250 people grappling for the title. Talking about the late timing of the race, he argued that it was due to some of the other local
events, which were being organised on the same day.
