Parkfield Alice stands first in the Grade A2 500m race at Sheffield
Parkfield Alice, a black b***h trained by J M Walton, beautifully grabbed top position by defeating the most favourite hound, Wanandonly, in a Grade A2 race of 500m category at Sheffield track on January 19.
The triumphant runner fought against Wanandonly, Liscahane Kim, Kildare Swallow, Miaton Joe and Westmore Kid to wrest the victory by a huge margin of 6 ¼ lengths.
Parkfield Alice broke from trap 6 when the race started at 13:58. The b***h seemed to be somewhat aggressive from the very beginning.
She had to take only a few long jumps to take lead. Running affront, the daughter of Precious Kid continued to increase her speed, and widened the gap from her opponents. Shortly before the finish line, she had gone far away from all the five back
runners.
Convincingly, the b***h finished in 29.89 seconds. It was an amazing and glorious victory.
Trained by J M Walton, the dashing b***h started her career on December 30, 2010. She has achieved total 8 top spots so far. She was whelped in March, 2009.
Now, she is expected to have a successful year ahead. She will probably draw huge bankrolls in the upcoming events at the same track.
Walton, who was also stunned at the landmark achievement by his trainee, predicted after the race that the b***h was destined to accomplish a number of iconic successes.
The second position in the race went to, Wanandonly. The only favourite hound with starting price of 9 to 4 broke from trap 2. The blue b***h was sharp enough in the beginning, but lost her momentum soon. In the middle of the track, she slowed down,
and gave way to Parkfield Alice to go far ahead.
The daughter of Forest Bird wasn’t able to overhaul the winner, finishing in 30.39 seconds. Trained by A Mckenna, she made her debut in July, 2011. She was whelped in October 2009. The way she lagged yesterday was disappointing for the bookies and
her trainer alike.
Liscahane Kim notched up third position by bridging the distance in 30.47 seconds with a difference of one length.
It was an interesting and thrilling race as a whole. The winner earned 1st prize worth £102 while each of the other racers got £38.
