Parking Fine Leeds, Wheel-clamping.co.uk?

Question

Has anyone had a parking ticket from a company called VSC (Vehicle Control Servics Ltd), their web is www.wheel-clamping.co.uk

I got a ticket from them on Friday night in Leeds city centre up near the Uni and Spice Quarter. I parked my car there at about 7.45pm in a small carpark with no barriers, that I thought was free after 6pm (as most street parking is in the city centre). I got a ticket for £80 and if I don't pay within 7 days then it goes up to £120!!!! I don't know much about parking fines, but I was under the impression the council gave you a fine, not a private company? Has anyone ever had a ticket from these guys? Are they a genuin company or a scam?

<p>Vehicle Control Services Ltd have No right in Law to issue you any penality, you have no legal obligation to communicate with them, the so called appeal is a trick to get the drivers details.</p> <p>Basically someone is trying to Con you out of money by using contract law, to do this they must obtain the drivers details, you have no legal duty to give them to a private company</p> <p>Ignore everything, it is all a trick to get hold of the drivers details and try to get you to enter a contract to pay them money : they will get the keepers details from DVLA, but it is the driver they have to sue and you do not have to tell them who it is and send a chain of Bluff letters threatening to sell your mum at a slave auction and all sorts of threats to clamp your car.</p> <p>Next follows more letters with more threats and a ever increasing bill.</p> <p>Then you will get letters from a debt collection agency Roxborugh threatening to sell your mum to the Taliban ect, get your phone number and make pester calls, which you can have a lot of fun with...</p> <p>Then you get a letter from a ficticius solicitor called Graham White who tells you he is taking you to court.</p> <p>Then you get his final warning, then his final final warning.</p> <p>Then you get the Final, Final, Final, Final warning with a offer to recind the other charges if you pay &pound;120</p> <p>Then they get fed up and go away</p>
