Question:

Parking at The Metro (Chicago)?

I guess there's a public parking lot around The Metro; I've looked on Google Earth and I saw an "EZ Parking" sign right across the street, but I didn't see a parking lot. Anyway, is there a parking lot (paid or otherwise) around The Metro. Preferably where I won't get ticketed =)

Thanks!!

  1. There are lots of parking lots around the Metro. Some are further south on Clark street or near Addison. But it might be better to park on the street. The lots are not really that much safer than the street. Depending on what time and day the concert is, you can park right on the street near the front door if you're lucky. IN Chicago, you don't have to feed the meters after 9 p.m. If your concert is after 9, park at 8 or maybe earlier and just feed the meter until 9. Or you can park further north on Clark Street, down near Irving Park. The parking on Clark is free down there (no parking meters, but be sure to read the signs) and you can either walk back or take the bus a couple of stops. Lots of people do this when the go to Cubs games at Wrigley Field, which is nearby. Use the lots as a last resort.

  2. i went to the metro last year for my friends show there and there was a parking spot near the metro (walking distance) that we and other people going to the metro parked in. but i'm not sure if the parking lot belonged to the metro... i dont think it did. and i honestly cant remember if we had to pay for parking. if anything, once you get there, just ask people standing outside the metro where to park. they'll know. hope i helped.

  3. We park at the McDonalds on the corner across from Wrigley Field.Just go in and pay the manager a parking fee. Those guys at the lot across the street are sometimes unfriendly and the space is tight to get in and out of.
