I had not been driving for quite awhile and have just started

again. My parking skills suck. I can't remember how I learned

in the first place. How did you learn how to park or do you have some brush up tips??

  1. Parking or Parallel Parking ???

For parking, just park in the spot and leave enough room on both sides of you.

    Parallel Parking.....

    Step 1:

Press your turn signal as you approach a parallel parking spot. The parking space must be 6 feet longer than your car. Pull up so the back of your car is even with the front edge of the parking space. Stay close to the car at your side.

    Step 2:

Turn the steering wheel toward the curb. One full turn of the wheel is the right amount to put your rear wheels in the correct position. Put your car in reverse and ease backward, allowing your car to straighten out as it goes back.

    Step 3:

Continue to go backwards until you almost touch the curb with your rear wheel. Put your car in drive and turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction.

    Step 4:

Pull forward to straighten out your car and angle it away from the curb. Keep an eye on the car in front of you and the one behind you to be sure you do not hit either one.

    Step 5:

Pull forward and backward as needed to center the car in the space.
