I want to park overnight on the street. Yes I know its Illegal, but other than getting a ticket what would happen? would the police ring my doorbell in the middle of the night telling me to move my car? or would it be a ticket and left at that.

  1. You can receive a ticket or even worst your vehicle can be towed away...............................

  2. If it's illegal to park overnight on the street where you are, you might get towed.  I doubt they would bother trying to ring your door bell.  You will just wake up to a missing car.

  3. you would get a ticket most likely unless you were blocking traffic or parked in a tow zone.

after a few tickets that don't get paid, they might tow nd impound the car.

they will not ring the bell.

  4. It depends on what country you live in and what the local laws are there. If it's the United States, I don't see why there should be a problem with parking overnight on the street. As long as your car is not blocking a driveway or parked incorrectly to obstruct traffic, I don't see why they should bother you to move it or write you a ticket.

  5. Brookline?

Read the signs near where you are parked. See if they mention towing. If not, the most you will get is a ticket.

  6. Parking overnight, where specified as contravening the road traffic act (plate clearly visible) yes it could happen, if the vehicle is deemed as a danger to other road users. It's more likely a warden will catch you out in the early morning, you've been warned.
