Parking permits wanted for resident near Olympic sites
It has recently become known that many British citizens will be liable to face a fine during the London2012 Olympics unless and until they get parking permits in order to park outside their houses.
This is because the houses of these citizens have been categorized under the no parking zones for the Olympics.
The spokesman of the London Organizing Committee, Adrian Bassett, made the following comments regarding the matter, “The last thing we want is for people not to be able to get out of their drive or not be able to take deliveries. We are working with all
the local councils to protect those people that live there and work there so people aren’t parking in front of someone’s house and blocking them in.”
According to the security and traffic plan chalked up by the Olympic organisers, the citizens of London who find themselves living within half an hour’s walking distance of any one of the Olympic sites will have to have a parking ticket to park their cars
in that area, even though it is next to their own house.
In case the residents of the specified area fail to park their car without a parking permit, they will be charged with a high fine during the entire 17-day event next year. The fines have various ranges but they can be as high as £200.
The permits to be used for the purpose of parking in the no parking zones are free of cost, however, they have been produce by using the money of the tax payer, therefore, indirectly, the permit holders have already paid for them.
In order to identify the people who will be violating this rule during the Olympic Games, the London Olympic organisers have allocated spy cars to patrol the specified area and get hold of anyone without a parking permit.
The Olympic Games are heading towards London for the third time in the city’s history after which London will become the first city in the world to have hosted the Games for three times. The first time that the Olympic Games came to London was in 1908 while
the second time that London played host to the Games was more than half a century ago in 1948.
