Question:

Parking stall (payment) etiquette

we were renting a parking stall in our apartment complex from this woman.

she said we could rent from the 22nd to the 22nd of each month.

the next day her husband says "no it has to be from the first to the first"

we said "thats fine but we do not have the money right now so on the 15th we will give it to you"

on august 2 she ran over to us yelling, "you have to move the car! my husband told you the 1st blah blah blah"

an argument did occur.

well, today she asked us, quite rudely if we were "going to justify last month"

the whole thing is the car was parked there 7 days!

she wants the 30 dollars.(a dollar for each day of the month)

I was going to make sure she got the 7 dollars for the week until she has decided to verbally attack us again and again.

Should I talk to the manager about it?

Should I just give her the money anyway?

  1. Speak to the manager, first of all, and let him/her know what's going on.  Let him/her know that not only did you have an agreement, but she was verbally abusive towards you, and you don't appreciate that.

From this point on, also, you need to get a written contract listing the terms under which you will be renting this parking spot so there is no confusion and it cannot be changed until the contract itself is up.
