  1. The registration number is used to identify the vehicle owner at DVLA.

If the ticket has the wrong reg, then they won't be able to trace you.

  2. my other half was a parking attendant. if the number plate is wrong then you can challenge it as it is incorrect, ring up your local council and talk to the people who deal with the tickets and they will be able to better help you but  as its the wrong registration you shouldnt have to pay it as it is their mistake!

  3. Just pay it so that it does not come back to bite you when you least expect it.

  4. if its the wrong reg number how are they going to know it you ???

i would wait and see if you get a reminder at your home address if you do  then pay it

  5. You parked illegally, full stop.

You took you chance and were unlucky.

I think it could go either way, it's up to them to note the correct number but it's up to you to park legally and be honest.

  6. Throw it in the garbage, as your copy of the ticket has the wrong registration number, so will the original. They cannot physically track you down with the wrong details!!!

  7. sit tight and wait and see if they chase you up......I can't see how they can chase you up if they have the wrong reg number.

In any event if they do catch up with you I would be tempted to tongue in cheek say it wasn't you as the reg is different.....everyone would know it was a typo by the warden, but technically they have no proof and I think they will write it off.(next time for te sake of a few pence buy a ticket!)

  8. depending on the cost of the ticket you could fight it.  if it is $5 then just pay it and move on.  A lot better than paying it in court and adding court cost.

  9. What do you want me to do?
