Question:

Parking tips?

Today is technically my sixteenth birthday and later in the week I take my road test, but I don't feel prepared at all!

Any tips on backing into a parking spot just like on the road skills test? I'm not sure when to begin to turn the car to aim in the spot or anything, I just wing it. Any help?

  2. If you really need to practice the backing skills specially on parking spots, find a suitable place or a field where you can do it. Have your partner provide plastic or wooden poles at least 4 pieces for use as guides when you practice backing techniques. Allow only very lean distances in such a way that you fit all 4 guides without touching the sides of your car when you back up. Practice this a couple of times until you perfect it  and you'll be surprise that backing up on parking lots is just a piece of cake.

  3. You need at least 120 hours supervised driving experience before taking your test, and that includes at least 20 hours with a professional driving instructor.

Any less and you are heading into roadkill territory.

  4. If you know how to do a 3-point turnaround, you can back your car into a parking space using the same technique.
