Parking to the side?

When I park to the side, whats the maximum distance I can have between the car and the curb?

during a driving test its 1 foot (12 inches)

edit.. I'm not too sure, but I dont think so.. What I would recommend is, do practice runs, park your car, so you are the correct distance away from the curb.. from the drivers seat, line up a part of either your hood,  or wipers, with the curb.. that way, when you know your are parked correct, you shouldnt pull in past that spot! Alas, no wheel bumpage!
