Parliamentary pay?

just watched comments about mp's pay.... says if pay isn't good it won't attract high quality people into parliament or something along those lines...... are there no people out there wanting to take on the job of mp because they feel they want to help create and sustain a 'great britain'... is it always down to how big is the salary?... am i nieve?

  1. Politics is supposed to be a 'vocation' ie you do the work because you love it and believe you can make a diferrence to peoples lives (for the better). Since MP's became paid for their work it is just a gravy train to se how much they can earn is salary and expenses while awarding themselves fabulous pension rights at the same time.


  2. Personally I've always thought they should do it free of charge - that way you'd only get successful people who know where they're at

  3. To say it will not attract the right people is rubbish!Most of these MPs are lawyers so being in parliament is just a second job!what they are here for is Power;Manipulation  of the expenses without being bought before the Court's!
