Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi denies Sebastian Giovinco speculation – Serie A Update
Parma FC have nullified the recent claims by Juventus regarding the possible return of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Giovinco-c32724 to Turin. The attacking midfielder spent the last season at Parma on loan and the Crociati reserved the right to buy 50 percent rights of the player.
The Atomic Ant was on fire throughout the 2010/11 season, and the Ducali decided to exercise their right in the wake of some outstanding performances.
Currently, the Italian international is co-owned by the two outfits and Juve, in light of his recent performances in the Serie A, are keen to have him back at Juventus Arena.
The player has already scored 5 goals in the opening 4 games for the Crusaders in the Italian top flight and the Juve director general, Beppe Marotta, is impressed by the quality the Juve youth academy product is producing.
Marotta, while recently talking to the media, hinted at a possible return for Giovinco and revealed that Juve need players like him. The diminutive attacker has spent two loan spells since his debut in the 2006/07 season and the Juve director believes he
has gained enough experience to wear the Bianconeri jersey.
However, on the contrary, Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi responded to the threat of losing Giovinco and said that they have no intentions of letting the player go anytime soon. The President is planning a long term future for the attacking midfielder at
Parma and Juve have been a hands-off warning.
“I’m happy with what Marotta said, but there is a long way to go before you can state that the player will be heading back to Turin,” President Tommaso Ghirardi told the Corriere dello Sport.
“Giovinco is co-owned between Juventus and ourselves right now. We’ll only talk about what to do with him next in June.”
The sensational attacker has won a berth with Azzurri for the Euro 2012 on the back of his form for Parma. A move back Juventus might jeopardise his first team appearances, something Giovinco will not live to happen with the national team spot at stake.
